Through July and August, when Karuizawa offers a cool escape from the summer heat, the old Ginza street comes alive with seasonal stalls and handmade crafts. Local makers, small kitchens, and seasonal produce line the avenue beneath the trees.

It is an easy, unhurried way to spend an afternoon — wandering, tasting, and finding something made by hand to carry home.
