Autumn Foliage Season Around Lake Kumoba and the Surrounding Forests (October – November)

From October into November, the forests around Lake Kumoba slowly turn — maple and larch shifting through red, amber, and gold. On a windless morning, the colors rest perfectly on the still surface of the pond.

A slow walk around the water is one of Karuizawa’s quietest pleasures, the season deepening a little with each passing day.
